About Us

Troop 106 emphasizes scout leadership, outdoor activities, and fun!

We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 at Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ, 5010 Little Falls Road, Arlington, Virginia. We have at least one overnight outing each month during the school year, as well as opportunities for day trips and service projects. In the summer we go to summer camp for a week, and have a major venture outing for older scouts, including the Philmont Scout ranch every other year.

Troop 106 has been continuously active since 1922 and is one of the oldest troops in Arlington. Our scouts attend many different public and private schools in Northern Virginia and DC, and we welcome boys and girls from any school or Cub Scout Pack. We offer a complete merit badge program, allowing exposure to more than 120 hobbies, life skills, and career opportunities -- from Aviation to Archery, Cooking to Communication, Salesmanship to Snow Sports, Wilderness Survival to Wood carving, and everything in between!

At Troop 106, our goal is for all of our scouts to reach the rank of First Class, giving them the skills needed for a lifetime of outdoor adventures. A high proportion of our scouts become sufficiently committed to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
